If I File I Personal Injury Lawsuit In Florida, How Long Does It Take?
A question that I get from my clients involved in a Personal Injury matter is “If we file a lawsuit, how often does it actually go to the trial and how long is the process?”
As a general rule, I would say 95 to 98% of the cases that actually get a lawsuit filed never get to the courthouse steps! Actually, between the filing of the lawsuit and all the discovery and mediation that takes place, getting to the courthouse steps is not that common. The majority of the lawsuits filed in Personal Injury will settle well before they get to the actual courthouse. However, you always need to be prepared you’re your case might be the one that needs to go all the way to trial!
