Hey everybody, Andy here. So today’s question is what actually is estate planning and then a follow-up question would be why is it so important?
Well estate planning, in my opinion, is basically planning for a disaster. Now the disaster might be that you pass away or even worse, or maybe not worse but just as bad, you become disabled meaning you can’t handle your finances or you can’t make your own health care decisions. God forbid you’re in an auto accident and you can’t make your own health care decisions. Who’s going to make those decisions for you?
The point is it’s really important and it needs to be taken care of. The question next is why is it so important, and it’s so important because you’re leaving a mess for your family if you don’t take care of it, so be responsible and really take care of your estate planning documents. You need an attorney to protect your rights and all these things.
