What Is No Fault Insurance or Personal Injury Protection Insurance?

January 28, 2022

Hey everybody, this is Andy Rosenberg and I’m here to help with your personal injury matters.

When you’re in a car accident in the state of Florida we have what’s called no fault insurance. It’s also called PIP which also stands for personal injury protection.

People don’t understand what that is so I’m here to explain it real quick. Basically what happens is when you’re in an accident in the state of Florida we don’t care who’s at fault. When it comes to the no fault insurance that’s why it’s called no fault. What happens is even if you’re not at fault your own insurance company will pay forthe first ten thousand dollars of medical coverage so if you go to the hospital you get MRIs, you go to a chiropractor you go to orthopedic that’s all paid for by the no fault insurance, once that ten thousand dollars is used up it’s gone and then obviously there’s more expenses which the attorney will go through at a later time but the main thing is that you need to understand even though you’re not at fault in an accident the PIP or no fault insurance will be paid for by your own insurance.

I hope that you found that worthwhile.
